The good news for the Siuslaw Vikings is that they haven't lost a Far West League softball game at home this season.
The bad news is they are 0-2 on the road after dropping a doubleheader Friday to Marshfield in Coos Bay.
The Pirates won the opener 11-1 and the nightcap 17-1.
Junior Mackenzie Johnson, a returning first-team all-league pitcher, was the winner in both games, tossing a 1-hitter in the 7-inning first game and scattering 5 hits in the 5-inning second game.
Johnson struck out 18 in the doubleheader, including 12 in the opener.
Siuslaw junior first baseman Claire Waggoner was 3-for-6 in the two games with three doubles.
The Vikings are at home next week, with a single game Tuesday against Brookings-Harbor and a doubleheader Friday against Douglas.
First pitch Tuesday is 5 p.m. First pitch Friday is 3 p.m.
