The Siuslaw Vikings girls volleyball team will open the state playoffs with a play-in game at 4 p.m. Saturday at Cascade.
The winner will join seven other play-in winners in the first round of the Oregon School Activities Association Class 4A playoffs Saturday, Oct. 28.
The Vikings are No. 22 in the final OSAA Class 4A rankings, while Cascade is No. 12.
Siuslaw is 11-10 overall after a 5-5 fourth-place finish in the Far West League. Cascade is 11-7 overall and shared second place in the Oregon West Conference at 7-3.
South Umpqua hosts Corbett and North Bend travels to Estacada in other matches involving Far West League schools.
Marshfield has a bye after sweeping co-champion South Umpqua, 3-0, in a playoff for the league's top seed Tuesday at Coquille.

Siuslaw would have been at Cottage Grove, but the pairings were adjusted to avoid pairings schools from the same league (in this case Cowapa teams Seaside and Astoria).
The seven league champions and the highest-ranked runner-up team have byes into the 16-team first round.
