OSAA Class 4A basketball playoffs tip off


Sky-Em League top-seed Marshfield will host Gladstone and No. 2 seed Marist Catholic will visit Baker in the first round of the Oregon School Activities Association Class 4A boys basketball championships.

All eight first-round games are scheduled for this coming Friday.

All four home teams won play-in games Friday to complete the 16-team field.

In the OSAA 4A girls playoffs, Junction City of the Sky-Em League beat Gladstone, 54-42, in a play-in game Friday.

The Sky-Em League's fourth team, Cottage Grove, lost to visiting Valley Catholic in a play-in game Saturday, 57-37.

All eight first-round games for the girls are scheduled for Saturday, with top seed Marshfield at home against the No. 16 seed, which will be determined by the four play-in games.

The Sky-Em League's No. 2 seed, Marist Catholic, is scheduled to play at Astoria.

Quarterfinal, semifinal and championship games are March 7-9 in Forest Grove.
