Siuslaw sweeps Cottage Grove, 13-2, 15-10

Siuslaw catcher Lexie Smith is one of six seniors who will be playing their final games next week for the Lady Vikings.

The Siuslaw Vikings girls softball team doubled its fun and its win total Friday with a doubleheader sweep of the Cottage Grove Lions.

The Lady Vikings swept the Lady Lions 13-2 and 15-10 at the Harrison Elementary School field in Cottage Grove.

The twin wins put Siuslaw at 3-9 in the Sky-Em League and 3-15 overall. All three wins have been at the expense of Cottage Grove.

The Lady Vikings close their season with three home games next week, Tuesday against Elmira and a doubleheader Friday with Marshfield.

Half of Siuslaw's 12-player roster will be playing their final games.

Seniors Angela Bartlett, Lupita Figueroa, Hayley Meier, Alyssa Richards, Liz Rosinbaum and Lexie Smith will be honored prior to Friday's doubleheader at the Siuslaw High School varsity field.
