Welton first place all alone in Miller League

Welton Construction swept its way Wednesday to sole possession of first place in Miller League Softball at Miller Park.

Welton squeezed by ACC in its first game, 16-12, then routed Lofy Construction in the nightcap, 30-5.

Welton is now 5-1 through three weeks of play, with Beachcomber 4-2, ACC 3-3 and Lofy 0-6.

In other games Wednesday, Beachcomber shut out Lofy, 33-0, and ACC battered Beachcomber, 22-5.

Next Wednesday, Welton and Beachcomber have a showdown at 7 p.m. on the South Field.

In the early game at the South Field, Beachcomber plays Lofy at 5:30 p.m.

At the North Field, ACC plays Welton at 5:30 p.m. and Lofy at 7 p.m.
