Second-place ACC rocks first-place Welton

Welton Construction has a two-game league in Miller League Softball with three weeks to play, but the team was less than dominating Wednesday at Miller Park.

Second-place ACC whipped Welton in their showdown, 16-4, then Welton was extended in the nightcap before beating winless Lofy Construction, 18-17.

In other games, Beachcomber blitzed Lofy, 32-12, and ACC pounded Beachcomber, 27-5.

Welton is now 10-2 in league play, with ACC at 8-4, Beachcomber at 6-6 and Lofy at 0-12.

Next Wednesday, Welton and ACC have a rematch at 5:30 p.m. on the North Field. The nightcap at the North Field is Welton vs. Beachcomber at 7.

At the South Field, Beachcomber plays Lofy at 5:30 p.m. and ACC plays Lofy at 7.
