ACC cuts Welton's league lead to one game

ACC beat league-leader Welton to pull within a game of first place with four games to play.

ACC has sliced Welton Construction's lead in Miller League Softball to one game with two weeks to play in the season.

Wednesday at Miller Park, ACC defeated Welton 21-16 followed with a 33-8 thrashing of Lofy Construction.

In other games, Welton bounced back to beat Beachcomber 27-6 and Beachcomber blitzed Lofy 40-7.

Welton is 11-3 on the season with four games to play, with ACC a game back at 10-4. Beachcomber is 7-7 and Lofy 0-14.

This coming Wednesday, Week 8 of the 9-week league, Welton plays Beachcomber at 5:30 p.m. on the South Field and Lofy at 7 on the North Field.

ACC opens with Lofy at 5:30 p.m. on the North Field, then plays Beachcomber at 7 on the South Field.
