Registration is underway for SMS Vikings

Fall sports registration for Siuslaw Middle School Vikings is underway, athletic director Jeromy Graybill announced.

Graybill says parents should:

Register on Familyid.com (search: Siuslaw)
Make sure your son or daughter has a sports physical on file (good for two years)
Pay the participation fee

First practice for fall sports is 3:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26.

There is a parents meeting scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, at the common area of the middle school.

Coaches are Dan Rankin and John Rose for football, Tori Shubin and McKenzie Perry for volleyball and Rachelle Campbell for cross country.

Football uses a nine-player format that features no kickoffs and a narrower field.

Perry reports an SMS girls volleyball camp is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Monday through Wednesday, Aug. 12-14, at the high school main gym.
