Lady Vikings open 2020 with first victory

The Siuslaw Vikings girls basketball team opened 2020 with its first win of the season, a 37-26 thrashing Friday of East Linn Christian Academy at the Bandon Dunes Holiday Invitational.

The Lady Vikings play Bandon at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the championship game.

The Siuslaw boys lost to East Linn Christian Academy later Friday, 58-48, and will play Alsea in a consolation game Saturday.

The Lady Vikings are now 1-9 on the season, while the Lady Eagles of Lebanon, Ore., are 3-6.

Bandon's girls beat Alsea 77-27 to improve to 9-1 on the season.

Bandon's boys gained the tournament final with a 91-17 victory over Alsea.
