Executive Board OKs football realignment

The Executive Board has spoken, and it's a new world for Siuslaw Vikings football.

This fall the Vikings will be part of the Oregon School Activities Associations's 13-school Class 3A Special District 2.

Those schools include Brookings-Harbor, Cascade Christian (Medford), Douglas, Harrisburg, Junction City, La Pine, Pleasant Hill, Sisters, Siuslaw, South Umpqua, St. Mary's (Medford) and Sutherlin.

The OSAA Executive Board has adopted the Football Ad Hoc Committee's reconfiguration of Oregon high school football for 2020 and 2021.

Siuslaw's 2020 schedule, currently tentative, will be finalized later this month (league games unless otherwise noted):

Sept. 4 — at South Umpqua (Tri City), nonleague
Sept. 11 — Brookings-Harbor, nonleague
Sept. 18 — Sisters
Sept. 25 — Sutherlin, nonleague
Oct. 2 — at Harrisburg
Oct. 9 — at La Pine
Oct. 16 — Pleasant Hill
Oct. 23 — Santiam Christian
Oct. 30 — at Junction City

The updated football alignments was one of several actions by the OSAA Executive Board on Monday.
