Vikings' season ends at Woodburn, 60-39

The Woodburn Bulldogs scored the first 15 points of the second half Friday to put away the visiting Siuslaw Vikings, 60-39, in an Oregon School Activities Association Class 4A boys basketballl play-in game.

The Vikings completed their season 11-15.

Woodburn, No. 6 in the final 4A rankings, improved to 17-7 and advances to the 16-team Class 4A championship bracket.

The Vikings jumped to a 10-point lead after the first quarter, 21-11.

Woodburn recovered to shave the deficit to one point at halftime, 29-28.

The Bulldogs, connecting from beyond the 3-point arc, outscored Siuslaw 21-2 in the third quarter to take a 49-31 lead.
