OSAA updates its update for fall football

The Siuslaw Vikings' 2020 football schedule apparently has not become undone.

The Oregon School Activities Association has updated its update of the fall football alignment, and there are no changes for the Vikings — yet.

"They posted the wrong update," Siuslaw athletic director Chris Johnson said Friday. "It's been updated and reposted."

Thursday, the football ad hoc committee posted a revised Class 3A alignment, which impacted the Vikings schedule.

For now, the schedule will remain as posted.

"The reality is we don't know what is going to happen," Johnson said. "The fall will look a lot different most likely. There will be committees that will work on restructuring a lot of things."

Don Hunt's history of Siuslaw football is getting an update, with the book due soon. "The second edition has new chapters on longtime statisticians Lanny Nivens/Bob Hylton, Sam Johnson and recaps of the 2018 and 2019 seasons," Hunt said. "I also updated the school records portion in the back of the book." ...
