Vikings name their cheer team for 2020-21

The Siuslaw Vikings has a cheer team for the 2020-21 school year, featuring 10 student-athletes.

Second-year coach Teri Straley welcomes a team of two seniors, four juniors, three sophomores and a freshman.

Seniors include Adria Sandusky and Leann Jagoe, juniors Brooke Olson, Arrianna Brown, Destiny Teel and Kelly Phillips, sophomores Gillian Norton, Maddie Petterson and Brea Kimble and freshman Chloe Aaron.

Sandusky and Olson are co-captains.

The Vikings placed eighth in state in February with a roster of seven student-athletes, including six who return for the coming school year.

First practice is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 17. The state championship is Feb. 13, 2021, in Portland.
