Tuesday's meet at Hans Petersen canceled

This coming Tuesday's scheduled Sky-Em League track and field meet at Hans Petersen Field has been canceled, Siuslaw athletic director Chris Johnson announced.

"We are going to cancel/postponed the first meet," Johnson said via an email to media. "With other sports still going on, we just don't have enough kids who will be ready by then."

The Vikings now are tentatively to start their season with the Central Coast Invitational, set for Friday, April 23, at Hans Petersen Field.

The first day of track and field practice was Monday. The Vikings still have athletes competing in football, with a game Friday, and Saturday's 4A cross country championships.

Tuesday, April 27 — Sky-Em League JV Meet, Cottage Grove
Friday, April 30 — Sky-Em League Showcase, Hans Petersen Field, 4 p.m.
Friday, May 7 — Wally Ciochetti Invitational. Cottage Grove, 2 p.m., 11 a.m.
Friday-Saturday, May 14-15 — Sky-Em League Championships, Hans Petersen Field, 11 a.m.
May 17-23 — Culminating Week, to be announced
