Vikings' Andrea Osbon sweeps the throws

Siuslaw senior Andrea Osbon swept the shot put, discus and javelin in the girls meet and the Vikings boys dominated Tuesday in a three-way track and field meet at Cottage Grove.

Osbon had personal records in both the shot put and discus, moving to No. 5 all-time on the school list at 39 feet, 6 inches in the former and No. 8 all-time at 115-1 in the latter. She won the javelin at 95-7.

Siuslaw junior Camp Lacouture won the triple jump with a PR 37-11 and the pole vault at 12-6 to lead the Vikings to the boys title with 184 points. Host Cottage Grove had 136 and Junction City 20.

Junction City won the girls title with 132 points to 122 for Cottage Grove and 74 for Siuslaw.

  • Sophomore Samuel Ulrich won the 1,500 with a PR 4:20.16a.
  • Senior Jaxson Jensen won the 400 with a PR 54.86a.
  • Junior Avery Hart won the shot put with a PR 39-7.75.
  • Senior Liam McClellan won the discus with a PR 119-10.
  • Senior Skyler Loomis won the javelin at 160-11 and finished second in the discus at 116-3.
  • Junior James Smith was second in the 100 with a PR 12.34a.
  • Sophomore Hunter Petterson was second in the 200 with a PR 24.33a and second in the 400 with a PR 56.39a.
  • Junior Chad Hughes was second in the 800 with a PR 2:11.04a and second in the 1,500 with a PR 4:24.30a.
  • Sophomore Lucian Murphy was second in the 300 hurdles in 52.62a.
  • Sophomore Kyle Hughes was second in the pole vault at 10-6.
  • Siuslaw's 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams both won.

  • Senior Brea Blankenship won the 1,500 in 5:07.73a.
  • Senior Gracie Freudenthal won the 400 in 1:04.54a.
  • Junior Rylee Colton was second in the 800 with a PR 2:31.99a.
  • Freshman Corduroy Holbrook was second in the 1,500 in a PR 5:46.01a.
  • Siuslaw won the 4x400 relay.

Siuslaw next hosts the Sky-Em League Show on Friday at Hans Petersen Field.

HALL OF FAME

The Siuslaw Vikings Hall of Fame banquet may be canceled for the second year in a row, Siuslaw athletic director Chris Johnson confirmed.

"It's getting harder to imagine a gathering of the size we need with the (covid) numbers trending like they are," he said, "but we will keep an eye on everything and hope for the best."
