Recap: Sophomore forward Nicholas May scored twice in the first half and the Vikings outshot the Hawks 36-8 as Siuslaw posted its first league win and second shutout of the season. "Our offense was hungry for goals," Siuslaw coach Londi Tomaro said. "Our beautiful passing and movement both on and off the ball resulted in three goals in the first half." Siuslaw had struggled on offense recently, scoring one goal in three matches, all league losses. Sophomore forward Charles Nelson scored in the first half, while senior defender Alex Goss and senior midfielder Yoskar De la Mora added second-half scores. "We came into the game short-handed, with players out for injury and sickness, yet our team held together and played smart, focused soccer," Tomaro said. "The defense did a great job of breaking up the Hawks' attacking plays and moving the ball back up the field to create attacking possibilities."
