Bobbie Wells won the 18-hole competition low-gross title Tuesday (Sept. 15) in the Ocean Dunes Women's Golf Association championship final at the Ocean Dunes Golf Links.

Rene Pengra had the top 18-hole low net, followed by Julie Ripley and Vonda Maywood.

Terry Pennington was the WGA 9-hole competition's low-gross champion, while tournament-director Rosalie Johnson was low net, followed by Karen Loren.

Closest to pin (KP) winners in the 18-hole field were Pengra (hole No. 4), Bobbie Wells and Vonda Maywood (No. 8) and Wells (No. 12).

KP winners in the 9-hole field were Loren (No. 4) and Johnson (No. 8).

The association's annual Oktoberfest likely will not be held this year, Johnson said. The WGA will hold its awards gathering in November.
