Vikings even record at 1-1, beat Phoenix

Junior Destinie Tatum had 15 points, 15 rebounds and 6 steals Saturday as the Siuslaw girls basketball team evened its season record at 1-1 with a 45-31 nonleague victory at Phoenix.

Senior Sierra Potter added a pair of 3-pointers and 10 points, while senior Taylor Dotson had 11 rebounds.

Next game for the Vikings is 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Newport.

Friday, junior Darian Wilson had 18 points, freshman Abbey Dieu 14 and senior Makala Edgar 12 as the visiting Coquille Red Devils defeated Siuslaw, 71-23.

Tatum hit 2-of-4 3-point shots and scored 11 points to lead the Vikings.

Junior Claire Waggoner had 8 rebounds to lead Siuslaw, with Dotson pulling down 7 and Tatum 6.
