The Siuslaw Vikings' track-and-field season gets underway Thursday (March 17) with the Siuslaw Icebreaker at Hans Petersen Field.
Bandon, Douglas, North Bend and Coquille will join Siuslaw in the annual season opener.
Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for students.
Field events are scheduled for 4 p.m., starting with the high jump and followed by the shot put, the javelin, the pole vault, the discus, the long jump and the triple jump.
Track events begin with the 400-meter relay, followed by the 1,500, the 100, the 400, the high hurdles, the 800, the 200, the intermediate hurdles, the 3,000 and the 4x400 relay.
The meet will employ a rolling schedule, with events one after another without a posted time schedule.
Siuslaw senior Mikaela Siegel returns to defend her state hurdles title.
Veteran head coach Chris Johnson is assisted by Jack Butler, Mary Dodson, Anna Moser, Steven Moser, Max Perry, Dick Richmond and Pat Towne.
