Tatum, Precht, Reavis, Tupua post wins


Juniors Destinie Tatum and Annmarie Precht, sophomore Trent Reavis and freshman Annabel Tupua won individual events for the Siuslaw Vikings in Tuesday's Far West League JV meet at the Prefontaine Track in Coos Bay.

Tatum won the girls 400 meters in a personal-record 60.40a seconds. She also had a personal-record in finishing second at 800 meters in 2:21.84a.

Precht shared the girls 100 title with a time of 13.10a and placed second in the long jump at 16 feet, 9.5 inches.

Reavis won the boys discus at 139-8. He also was eighth in the javelin at 139-0 and scratched in the shot put.

Tupua won the girls shot put with a personal-record heave of 33-3.75. She also was fifth in the discus with a personal-record 94-0.

The Vikings have one more meet before the district championships, traveling to Cottage Grove on Friday for the Wally Ciochetti Invitational.

The Far West League championships are May 13-14 at Douglas High School in Winston.

The Oregon School Activities Association 4A state championships are May 20-21 at Hayward Field on the University of Oregon campus in Eugene.
