John Weatherwax and Roberta Parker scored a 29 Thursday, the best among Florence Duplicate Bridge Club players in a Sectional Tournament at Clubs event at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church.

The tournament featured club players from Washington, Oregon, Idaho and California, all playing hands randomly generated by computer.

"Unfortunately, the Florence players were not high enough to place in the overalls," Weatherwax said. "But it is always a fun event."

Florence pairs scoring a 28 were Don Watson-Suzanne Watson and Lloyd Little-Kenneth Hampston. Georgia Farman and Reisner scored 25.5, Doreen MacNeil and Beverly Rozaire-Brown a 22.5 and David Gustafson and Marian Weiss a 17.

The Florence club is Oregon Central Coast unit 572 of the American Contract Bridge League, which sanctions the weekly games.

Club play is usually 12:30 p.m. Thursdays at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 19th and Tamarack.
