Siuslaw's Trent Reavis and Murray Bingham will be carrying the Vikings' colors to the state 4A track and field championships Friday and Saturday, May 20 and 21, at Hayward Field in Eugene.

Reavis won the shot put at 48 feet, 3 inches and Bingham finished second in the 1,500 meters in 4 minutes, 16.19a seconds Saturday at the Far West League district championships at Douglas High School in Winston.

Reavis will head to state as district champion in both the shot put and the discus. The sophomore won the discus Friday with a throw of 138-8.

Bingham, a freshman, finished second by less than half a second in both the 1,500 and the 3,000 to North Bend junior Michael Brown.

Marshfield won the boys team title with a score of 224.5 points. North Bend was second with 202.

Siuslaw finished third with 71 points, followed by Douglas with 52, Brookings-Harbor with 47 and South Umpqua with 45.5.
