Vikings Mans, Oliver, Precht, Tatum triumph

The Siuslaw Vikings girls track and field team won seven of 12 finals Saturday but it wasn't enough to catch Marshfield for the title at the Far West League district track and field championships at Douglas High School in Winston.

The Pirates, who took a 1-point lead over the Vikings after Day 1, finished 1 point ahead in the two-day event, winning 183-182.
