3 Far West League schools in 4A playoffs


Far West League baseball champion North Bend has been seeded No. 5 and will receive a bye in the Oregon School Activities Association's 24-school 4A playoffs.

South Umpqua will host Scappoose and Brookings-Harbor will visit Sisters in play-in games.

Play-in games

  • Brookings-Harbor at Sisters, 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 19
  • North Marion at Hidden Valley, 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 19
  • Mazama at Elmira, 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 19
  • North Valley at Ontairo, 5 p.m. (MT) Friday, May 20
  • Baker at Molalla, 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 18
  • Sweet Home at Astoria, 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 20
  • Madras at Cascade, 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 19
  • Scappoose at South Umpqua, 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 19

Teams will be reseeded after the play-in games.

Also drawing byes are Henley, Banks, Valley Catholic, Cottage Grove, Estacada, Philomath and La Grande.

Round 1 of the playoffs is scheduled for Wednesday, May 25.

The quarterfinals are May 27, the semifinals May 31 and the championship game June 4.

North Bend is 19-4 overall and won the league title with a 14-1 record.

The Bulldogs have tuneup games Tuesday at Marist Catholic and Thursday at home against South Eugene.
