Bingham finishes 4th in boys 1,500 final


Siuslaw Vikings freshman Murray Bingham finished fourth Saturday in the boys 1,500-meter finals at the Oregon School Activities Association 4A track and field championships at Hayward Field in Eugene.

Bingham was timed in 4 minutes, 13.99a seconds.

Tillamook senior Aryton Ledesma won in 4:10.10a, followed by Sisters senior Jadon Bachtold in 4:11.70a and North Bend junior Michael Brown in 4:12.13a.

The Siuslaw boys team of Bingham and sophomore Trent Reavis scored 20 points over two days. Bingham also was fourth in the 3,000 meters, while Reavis was third in the shot put and fifth in the discus.

Shot put: Carissa Oliver finished 3rd at a personal-record 39 feet, 10 inches.
1,500: Morgan Bingham finished 5th in 4:49.05a, Celie Mans 7th in 4:50.97a.
100: Annmarie Precht finished 5th with a personal-record 12.79a seconds.
100 hurdles: Mikaela Siegel finished 1st in a personal-record and 4A state season-best 15.61a seconds.
800: Destinie Tatum finished 1st in a personal-record 2:17.62a.
200: Annmarie Precht finished 4th in a personal-record 26.30a.
triple jump: Mikaela Siegel finished 5th at 33 feet, 8.5 inches.
