Vikings fall to Creswell in season opener

The Creswell Bulldogs spoiled the Siuslaw Vikings girls basketball team's season opener Wednesday, posting a 39-29 victory at Glenn Butler Court.



Senior Destinie Tatum led the Vikings in scoring with 9 points before fouling out.

Sophomore Annabel Tupua led Siuslaw in rebounding with 7, senior Abby Watkins in steals with 3 and senior Brittany Long in assists with 2.

The Vikings committed 21 turnovers and 19 fouls in the game.

Siuslaw next hosts Elmira at 6 p.m. Friday. Elmira lost its season opener Wednesday at Newport, 61-58.
