The Siuslaw Vikings girls basketball team opened a five-game home stand Tuesday with a 40-20 loss to the Cottage Grove Lions at Glenn Butler Court.

It was Siuslaw's first home game after opening the season with six games on the road.

Freshman Lindsey Long and junior Madison Reynolds led the Lady Vikings with 8 points each.

Freshmen Brea Blankenship and Gracie Freudenthal added 2 points each.

Long, Freudenthal, sophomore Mia Collins and junior Alyssa Richards had 6 rebounds each to lead Siuslaw.

Siuslaw next hosts Sweet Home at 6 p.m. Monday and Reedsport at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
