Minnesota visitors capture Florence bridge


Visitors Hai-Sheng Wu and Rajiv Kapadia from the University of Minnesota won Thursday's weekly Florence Duplicate Bridge Club game at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church.

Wu and Kapadia posted a score of 30 to edge James Smith and John Neimand, who had 28 points. Marian Weiss and Phil Swinford had 27 for third and John Weisner and Lloyd Little 24 for fourth.

Doreen MacNeil and Chris Class were fifth with 21, while tying for sixth with 19 points each were the teams of Roberta Parker-Charles Lugg and Pat Klingensmith-Bud Klingensmith.

The Florence club is Oregon Central Coast unit 572 of the American Contract Bridge League, which sanctions the weekly games.

Club play is 12:30 p.m. Thursdays at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 19th and Tamarack.
