Siuslaw senior Dylan Wynn scored 13 points, freshman Braydon Thornton 12 and sophomore Jacob Foskett 10 Friday to fire the Vikings to  55-37 non league boys basketball victory over Samuel Robertson (B.C.) at Junction City.

The win launched the Vikings into the fourth-place game in the annual Harrisburg/Junction City Les Schwab Eagle Booster Club Classic.

Siuslaw is scheduled to play Sutherlin at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Junction City for fourth place in the eight-school field.

"We started off the game strong as we applied full-court pressure trying to create our offense out of our defense." Siuslaw coach Dylan Perry said.

"It's important for our young team to get easy buckets in transition. When we see the ball go through the hoop our confidence level rises and our defensive intensity continues to build.

"At halftime we stressed the importance of coming out in the third quarter and build our lead through continued pressure and disciplined offense.

"We did that well coming out in the third quarter and outscoring our opponent 26-12 to stretch our lead even further.

"In the fourth quarter we had a comfortable lead which allowed us to get our freshman some valuable varsity experience.

"We look forward to playing a very talented Sutherlin team today in the consolation bracket championship."

The Vikings will have a second shot at Sutherlin on Tuesday as Siuslaw resumes nonleague play at Sutherlin. Tip off is 7:15 p.m.

The game will be carried by Coast Radio, starting with a pregame show at 5:15 p.m. and followed by the Lady Vikings' game at 5:30 p.m.

Siuslaw returns home Friday to play Pleasant Hill at 7:30 p.m.
