A free softball skills camp for girls ages 8-14 will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, March 29, at Siuslaw High School, sponsored by the Siuslaw Baseball Softball Association.

The Siuslaw High School coaching staff and players will teach fundamental skills in hitting, throwing, fielding and pitching, as well as conduct basic offensive and defensive drills.

Participants need to bring a glove, batting helmet, water bottle and lunch.

The camp schedule:

• 9 a.m. — registration
• 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. — beginning pitchers
• 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. — intermediate pitchers
• 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. — lunch
• 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. — defensive basics
• 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. — offensive basics
