It's time to up Periscope for Vikings baseball

The Siuslaw Vikings baseball team will be in Klamath Falls this weekend, but you can watch them live from Florence on Periscope.

"My wife, Brandi, will set up the feed," Siuslaw coach Tom Shinn said. "We did a trial run during the Pleasant Hill contest."

And it worked.

"Test run on our attempts to bring Vikings baseball fans live game action was a success," Shinn posted on the program's Facebook Page, Siuslaw Vikings Baseball.

"If you can't make it to Klamath Falls, our plan is to broadcast over Periscope. Download the Periscope app. Then search Brandi Shinn and follow her."

Periscope is a live video-streaming app for Android and iOS devices. It was acquired by Twitter before launch in 2015.

More information on the app is available online at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Periscope_(app).

Fans also can follow the team on the GameChanger app, which features live play-by-play and game-in-progress boxscores.

The Vikings play at Mazama at 4:30 p.m. Friday and at Klamath Union at 11 a.m. Saturday.
