22nd Fore Kids Golf Classic tees off June 1

Playing a round of golf and helping the youth of Florence are two great ways to start the summer.

You can accomplish both by signing up for the 22nd annual Fore Kids Golf Classic, which tees off Saturday, June 1, at Ocean Dunes Golf Links.

Registration is 8 a.m., with a shotgun start for the four-player teams at 10 a.m.

Entry is $89 per player, plus a Mulligan package of four per team for $20. Fees include golf cart, hot dogs, beverages, the awards barbecue, a hole-in-one challenge and more.

Other featured events include a $5,000 putting contest as well as the annual helicopter golf ball drop fundraiser, scheduled for 3:30 p.m.

Proceeds support the Boys & Girls Club of West Lane County's Summer Brain Gain Program, billed as "a fun and engaging way for club kids to reduce summer learning loss."

Entry forms are available online at https://www.threeriverscasino.com/tournaments.

Forms also are at the BGCWLC complex, 1501 Airport Road, or at the Ocean Dunes clubhouse, 3345 Munsel Lake Road.

Entries can be dropped off at either site or mailed to BGCWLC, PO Box 739, Florence OR 97439. Checks should be made out to BGCWLC.

Questions, call the boys and girls club at 541-902-0304, or Nancy Pearson at 541-350-4852.
