9th Siuslaw Open tees off Saturday, Sept. 7


Registration has teed off for the ninth annual Siuslaw Open golf tournament Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Florence Golf Links.

The event is a fundraiser for Siuslaw Outreach Services.

"Funds raised will go to help needy individuals and families experiencing domestic violence, homelessness and other forms of crisis," according to the event's flyer.

A chance to win a 2019 Ford F-150 from Johnston Motors and a chance to putt for $5,000 are among the more than 30 prizes to win.

Entry fee is $89 a player or $350 for a team of four, with a deadline of Sept. 1.

OCEAN DUNES GOLF LINKS EVENTS

Ocean Dunes Golf Links is accepting entries for three upcoming events, including Cool at the Coast, the Viking Cup and the inaugural Dare to Care tournaments.

The Cool at the Coast Golf Tournament will be played Saturday, Aug. 3, with money raised benefitting the End Polio Now campaign.

The sixth annual Viking Cup Charity Scramble is Saturday, Aug. 10, with proceeds to Western Lane Baseball and the Siuslaw Volleyball Club.

The first Three Rivers Casino Dare to Care Tournament is Tuesday, Sept. 10, as a benefit to casino employees in need of emergency funding.
