Bob Rannow qualifies for Boeing Classic

Bob Rannow of Florence fired a 7-under-par 65 Tuesday at the High Cedars Golf Course near Ortig, Wash., to qualify for this weekend's $2.1 million Greater Seattle Boeing Classic, a Champions Tour golf stop.

Rannow will tee off in the last group on hole No. 10 at 1:42 p.m. Friday. The 54-hole tournament has no cut.

Rannow, the PGA pro at Ocean Dunes Golf Links, was second among four qualifiers for the three-day event at The Club at Snoqualmie Ridge in Snoqualmie, Wash.

Rannow's round on the 6,630-yard, par-72 course included an eagle-2 on the 424-yard par 4 No. 9 hole and eight birdies.
 He also had three bogeys, including the final two holes.

Dave Cunningham of Glenview, Ill., was the first qualifier with an 8-under 64, while David Morland IV of Palm Coast, Fla., and Shaun Micheel of Collierville, Tenn., advanced with 5-under 67s.

The field has a number of well-known pros, including John Daly, Fred Couples, Fred Funk, Retief Goosen, Lee Janzen, Bernhard Langer, Davis Love III, Billy Mayfair, Rocco Mediate, Larry Mize, Colin Montgomerie, Mark O'Meara, Vijay Singh, David Toms and Duffy Waldorf.



The Golf Channel will broadcast the event from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday and from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
