The Siuslaw Vikings coaching staff and schedule for the 2020 track and field season are all but filled.

Siuslaw Elementary School vice-principal Leonard "Snake" Ulrich is joining the staff this spring, filling the current one opening.

As for the schedule, all the big events are in place.

"We have to add a few league meets," Siuslaw coach Chris Johnson said, who has his Vikings runners primed for a run at state cross country titles Saturday.

"We bring back some seasoned veterans, and some exciting youngsters. I think we will be more competitive in the league title chase than we were last year.

"But that's a long way away."

Siuslaw was third in the girls standings, sixth in the boys standings in the six-team Sky-Em League last spring.

The Vikings have a firm date of Friday, April 24, for their premier home event, the Central Coast Invitational at Hans Petersen Memorial Field.

Siuslaw also has added BigFoot Pepsi's Jim Robinson Twilight Invitational April 11 in Roseburg, the Secure Storage Summit Invitational April 18 in Bend, the Harrisburg Small Schools Twilight May 1 and the Stayton Twilight Invitational May 9.

Siuslaw will host the Sky-Em League Championships on Friday and Saturday, May 22-23.

The state meet returns to a rebuilt Hayward Field on the University of Oregon campus in Eugene on Friday and Saturday, May 29-30.
