We may have seen the last Florence Half Marathon, which got its first start in 2016 and was scheduled for April 4 this year.

"The event organizer is no long organizing events, as she posted on her website," William Wyckoff of Eclectic Edge Racing said.

The race is one of several now for sale by Pink Buffalo Racing, which has organized the Florence Half Marathon since the first race in fall 2016.

"At this time, I am moving on from race production to pursue other passions," Piper Ruiz posted on the Pink Buffalo Racing website.

"Our hope for you in the new year is you continue to run and walk, pursuing your goals and broadening your horizons.

"Our portfolio of events (including the Florence Half Marathon) is for sale. If you are interested in purchasing one or more of our races, please send an email to Piper@Pink BuffaloRacing.com."

The Florence event kicked off Sept. 25, 2016, with much fanfare as Mayor Joe Henry served as starter for the 13.1-mile race starting and finishing at Miller Park.

Craig Godwin of Eugene won in 1 hour, 15 minutes, 53 seconds, with Kyle Terry of Florence second in 1:20:03.

Lindsey Ulrich of Florence was seventh overall and the first female to finish, clocking 1:33:31.
