Senior guard Jessica Roth hit two free throws with 2.8 seconds to play Tuesday to lift Marist Catholic to a 32-30 victory over the Siuslaw Vikings in a Sky-Em League girls basketball game at Glenn Butler Court.

The Lady Vikings, 1-15 overall and 0-2 in league, host Marshfield on Friday. Cottage Grove beat Marshfield on Tuesday, 31-21.

Roth finished with 24 points for the Lady Spartans, hitting 11 of 12 free throws.

Senior Mia Collins led the Lady Vikings with 9 points.

Siuslaw junior Gracie Freudenthal tied the game at 30-30 inside the final minute, but fouled out while fouling Roth on a tough call in the closing seconds.

Roth's free throws sealed the win.

Marist Catholic led 7-6 after the first quarter, despite making just one field goal. The Lady Spartans went into halftime up by just three, 14-11.

The Lady Spartans, up 25-21 after three quarters, hit 7 of 8 free throws in the fourth quarter for all their points.

Martist Catholic is now 7-6 overall and 2-0 in league.

In other league action, Junction City won at Elmira, 34-25.
