Celie Mans earns Big-Sky academic honor

Siuslaw graduate Celie Mans was one of 62 University of Idaho student-athletes placed on the 2019 Big Sky Fall All-Academic Teams, as announced by the league offices on Thursday.

It was the second year in a row that Mans earned the honor.

Football and soccer led the way for Idaho with 16 selections each. Women's cross country added 13 honorees, the most in the conference. Men's cross country placed 10, while volleyball saw seven earn recognition.

Drew Schultz of men's cross country, Kara Story and Krista Story of women's cross country and Morgan Crosby of soccer concluded their Vandal careers as four-time Big Sky All-Academic recipients.

To be eligible for recognition, a student-athlete must carry at least a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale) and participate in at least 50 percent of the team's competitions. Cross country student-athletes can also become eligible by competing at the conference championship.
