The Junction City Tigers outscored the visiting Siuslaw Vikings 6-0 in the final three minutes to pull out a 52-47 victory in Sky-Em League boys basketball play Friday.

Siuslaw finished the first half of league play 2-3, going 8-11 overall. Junction City is 3-2 and 12-8.

More critically, the Tigers now have the edge for a state play-in game heading into the final five games of the regular season.

The two teams meet again in the regular-season finale Feb. 18 on senior recognition night at Siuslaw.

The Vikings open second half play Tuesday by hosting Cottage Grove at Glenn Butler Court. Siuslaw won the first half meeting with the Lions, 56-54, in overtime.

Tipoff for Tuesday's game is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. The boys will play the second game of the boys and girls varsity doubleheaders in the second half.

Brody Terry had 12 points to lead the Vikings in scoring, with Liam McClellan and Jacob Foskett adding 10 points each.

Chris Ohman drained five 3-pointers for a game-high 17 points for Junction City. Estifanos Gerdes added 13.

The Vikings took control of the game early, leading 16-13. By the middle of the third quarter the Vikings were down 13, 40-27.

Siuslaw rallied with an 11-point run to cut the deficit to two, 40-38, early in the fourth quarter.

The Vikings grabbed their first lead of the second half at 43-42. The lead then changed hands five times, the final Siuslaw lead 47-46 midway through the quarter.

Elsewhere in Sky-Em play, Marist Catholic (5-0, 15-3) beat visiting Cottage Grove (1-4, 5-14), 54-37, and Elmira (1-4, 5-13) upset visiting Marshfield (3-2, 12-6), 68-63.
