The Cottage Grove Lions held the Siuslaw Vikings to six points in the second half Tuesday en route to a 46-25 Sky-Em League girls basketball victory at Glenn Butler Court.

The Lady Vikings, 0-6 in league and 1-19 overall, play their next three games on the road, including Friday's matchup at Marist Catholic.

Cottage Grove improved to 6-0 in league and 15-5 overall.

Junior Brea Blankenship led the Lady Vikings with 9 points, sinking three 3-pointers, all in the first half. Senior Mia Collins had 6 points, 4 rebounds and 5 blocks and junior Gracie Freudenthal 6 points.

Junior post Matty Ladd scored a game-high 20 points for the Lady Lions.

Cottage Grove jumped to a 22-8 lead after the first quarter and led 31-19 at halftime.

Siuslaw scored a basket to start the second half, but Cottage Grove closed the third quarter on a 9-0 run for a 40-21 lead.

In other games, Marist Catholic (5-1, 10-7) won at Elmira (1-5, 3-16), 50-32, and Junction City (4-2, 10-10) won at Marshfield (2-4, 7-13), 37-28.

Siuslaw plays at Marshfield and Elmira next week and close with senior recognition night on Tuesday, Feb. 18, against Junction City.
