Coast Radio plans to broadcast all Siuslaw Vikings baseball games this spring with the exception of a tournament at Madras during spring break.

"It is important to note that the games are weather dependent," Coast Radio general manager Jon Thompson said.

"In the case of several of the preseason games, many of those fields do not have a press box or cover. So in some rare cases, they may play the game in light rain but we won't be doing the practice."

Veteran broadcasters Wayne Sharpe and Randy Paredes will handle the games.

The Vikings open practice Monday, with the first game Tuesday, March 17, a doubleheader at Sutherlin. First pitch is 3 p.m.

First home game is Friday, March 20, against Creswell. First pitch is 4:30 p.m.

NOTES

The scoreboard at Dodson Stadium is being refurbished, with the Siuslaw Athletic Booster Club picking up the tab.

"It will be ready for the upcoming season," SABC president Steve Moser said. "It will be rewired, get new lights, the works. It will be like brand new!" …
