Rannow runs her first race for Oregon State

Siuslaw graduate Hannah Rannow (Class of 2020) ran her first race as a member of the Oregon State track and field team Saturday, competing in the Oregon State PNW Team Clash in Corvallis.

The freshman from Florence finished 15th in a field of 18 in the women's 1,500 meters in 5 minutes, 13.14a seconds.

Rannow also is a member of the Oregon State women's cross country team, which did not compete last fall because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Oregon State won the five-school, 18-event women's title with 262 points. Eastern Washington had 190, Seattle 104, Western Oregon 45 and Portland State 20.

Rannow won the Class 4A 3,000-meter title as a junior at Siuslaw in 2019 and the 800-meter title in 2018 as a sophomore.

She was Coast Radio's Athlete of the Year as a sophomore and a junior. There was no award in 2020 because of the pandemic.
