Vikings host Sutherlin in final game April 9

The Siuslaw Vikings football team will be culminating their abbreviated season at home against the Sutherlin Bulldogs on Friday, April 9.

The Vikings, 2-2, host Junction City at 7 p.m. Friday at Hans Petersen Field, while Sutherlin is again idle.

Sutherlin was in quarantine last week, following Covid-19 protocols, and had its game at St. Mary's of Medford canceled.

Sutherlin is 2-1 this season, opening with two home victories, 41-7 over Klamath Union and 15-6 over Brookings-Harbor.

The Bulldogs lost their most-recent game, 22-14 at South Umpqua on March 20.

Siuslaw and Sutherlin last met in the final regular season game of the 2019 season when both schools were in the 3A Special District 2 North.

The Bulldogs won that game at home, 56-18, on Nov. 1, 2019. Both schools advanced to the 3A state playoffs that season.

Sutherlin currently is playing in 3A Special District 2 South.
