The Siuslaw Vikings girls basketball team is literally down to the home stretch.

The Lady Vikings close their season with a pair of home games, Thursday against Sky-Em League leader Cottage Grove and Friday against Bandon, the top-ranked team in Class AA.

Tuesday, Siuslaw fell at Junction City, 57-32, in the first meeting this season with the Tigers. The first scheduled game between the two teams was postponed, rescheduled and ultimately canceled.

Junction City built a 22-point lead at halftime, 32-10, which the Lady Vikings whittled to 14 before finally losing by 25.

Seniors Brea Blankenship (13) and Gracie Freudenthal (11) combined for 24 of those 32 points.

Freshman Makayla Freeman had 4 points, while sophomore Denali Sleeper and freshman Jane Lacouture had 2 each.

Siuslaw fell to 2-7 overall and 2-6 in league. Junction City is 5-3 and 3-2.

Thursday is Senior Night for the Lady Vikings, with the game scheduled for 5:45 p.m.

Siuslaw has three seniors who will be honored — Blankenship, Freudenthal and Lizbeth Garcia.

Friday's game with Bandon is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.

In other league games Tuesday, first-place Cottage Grove (9-3, 8-1) beat visiting and second-place Marist (5-3, 5-3), 42-32, and Marshfield (6-5, 5-3) rolled at Elmira (0-11, 0-8), 49-7.
