Vikings' Senior Night moved to Thursday

Siuslaw Vikings basketball Senior Night will offer something unique Thursday against visiting Cottage Grove — the nine athletes to be honored should have diplomas.

The Lady Vikings have three seniors — Brea Blankenship, Gracie Freudenthal and Lizbeth Garcia — and the boys six. All graduated Friday.

Seniors on the boys team include Jacob Foskett, Clay Kramer and Tyrone Krohn, Skyler Loomis, Skyler Mattson and Liam McClellan.

Senior Night was scheduled for Friday against Bandon, but those are now day games, the girls at 1:30 p.m. and the boys to follow, Siuslaw athletic director Chris Johnson announced Saturday.

Now Senior Night is Thursday, the girls' game at 5:45 p.m., the boys to folow.

Friday won't be any easy night for the Vikings, who will take on AA power Bandon. The Bandon boys are 9-1, including a 17-point win over North Bend, and the Bandon girls are 10-0, with a 9-0 league record and a nonleague win over North Bend, 41-34.
