Bandon cancels Friday's games at Siuslaw

It will just be one more and done for the Siuslaw Vikings basketball teams.

Bandon has canceled its games Friday at Glenn Butler Court.

"Bandon has had some players exposed to covid," Siuslaw athletic director Chris Johnson reported.

So Thursday's Senior Night twin bill with Cottage Grove will cap the abbreviated season, with the girls scheduled to tip off at 5:45 p.m., the boys at 7:15.

Seniors saluted prior to the girls game include Brea Blankenship, Gracie Freudenthal and Lizbeth Garcia.

Seniors Jacob Foskett, Liam McClellan, Skyler Mattson, Clay Kramer, Tyrone Krohn and Skyler Loomis will be honored prior to the boys game.

The Lady Vikings enter their finale 2-7 overall and 2-6 in the Sky-Em League. The Lady Lions are 9-3 overall and have clinched the league title at 8-1.

Cottage Grove won at Cottage Grove, 55-20, in the first round of league games.

The Vikings boys are 8-4 overall and 5-4 in league, the Lions 2-9 and 2-7, their only wins against Elmira.

Siuslaw won at Cottage Grove earlier in the season, 53-46.

Thursday's Junction City and Marshfield boys game will decide the league title. Both schools are 7-2 in league.
