Skyline Roofing wins city tournament title

Skyline Roofling was only average in Sunday's championship game of the Florence Softball League Tournament at Miller Park.

But average was more than enough as the team pounded 30 hits in 46 at bats in the five-inning finale for a 28-1 victory over the Jerry's Place Beer Nuts.

The team averaged 28 runs a game during the regular season, winning 23 of 24 game to clinch the top seed in the tournament. Skyline Roofing won all five tournament games it played, including three Sunday to finish the season 28-1 overall in city league and tournament play.

Saturday's pool play standings:
Pool A, 1. Skyline Roofing 2-0 (+46 run differential), 2. Homegrown 1-1 (-7), 3. Heceta Mini Mart 0-2 (-39).
