The Siuslaw Vikings boys basketball team will be playing 11 of its 19 games at home, according to a tentative schedule posted on the school's website.

Practice begins Nov. 16 for the team, which will be under first-year coach Will Biggs, a retired college coach.

Biggs succeeds Vikings alumnus Jack Butler, who stepped down after three seasons as head coach.

First up for the Vikings is a home game at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, against Coquille.

Siuslaw also has preleague home games with Newport on Dec. 8, Junction City on Dec. 10, Elmira on Dec. 11, Cottage Grove on Dec. 18 and Sweet Home on Dec. 21.

The Vikings open Far West League play on Friday, Jan. 15, at South Umpqua.

First home league game is Tuesday, Jan. 19, against Marshfield.
