Grant senior Ella Donaghu, the three-time 6A state champion, won in 17 minutes, 59.7 seconds as Oregon beat Washington, 25-30, in the unofficial team standings.

Scappoose beat North Bend in the 4A football semifinals, 37-21, at Cottage Grove High School. Scappoose will play Cascade for the state championship at noon Saturday, Nov. 28, at Hillsboro Stadium.

John Weatherwax and Roberta Parker paired for a victory Thursday in the weekly Florence Duplicate Bridge Club competition at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church.

Siuslaw football lineman Dylan Jennings was named Coast Radio's Athlete of the Week. Jennings earned all-Far West League honors, first team on offense, second team on defense. Honorable mention: Vikings volleyball libero Ali Scheer, who was second-team all-league.
