Sophomore Richard Huff and freshman Matthew Morales captured individual titles Saturday in the annual Nick Lutz Invitational wrestling tournament at Siuslaw High School.

Huff, seeded No. 2 at 113 pounds, pinned top seed Jeremy Smith of Springfield in the championship match at the 5:00 mark.

Huff is 4-1 in tournament championship matches this season, his one loss in the finals of the Bend Invitational to a 5A wrestler.

Morales, the top seed at 106, won by a 3-1 decision over Dylan Averill,  a Thurston freshman.

For his work, Morales was named Coast Radio's Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.

Elmira won the team title with 260 points, with Thurston second with 238. Siuslaw was sixth with 126.

The Vikings are entered in the Sutherlin Invitational this coming Saturday and the Douglas Invitational the following Saturday, Jan. 30.

Siuslaw will compete in a Far West League Crab Pool Feb. 4 at South Umpqua and the two-day Cottage Grove Invitational Feb. 5-6.

The regional tournament is Feb. 19-20 at Henley High School in Klamath Falls and the state tournament Feb. 26-27 in Portland.
